Creative announced Wednesday a new content software dubbed the ZenCast Organizer at CES 2006, the Las Vegas-based annual tradeshow. This application will run off Windows-based PCs and handle the managing of audio and video blog content for Creative's Zen MP3 players.

Much like the audio and video podcast function in the iTunes jukebox, users can similarly access available content from the ZenCast Web site (www.zencast.com). Content from providers such as CNET, ESPN and RocketBoom are classified into five main categories (IT and hardware, lifestyle, world affairs, fast life, entertainment) and are further sub-divided in each category.

Users will not be restricted to only content on the ZenCast site. A separate Subscribe button allows users to enter URLs for other content providers. Content on both iTunes and ZenCast also differ slightly, i.e. the highly popular Z100 Phone Taps is not available on ZenCast.

Currently, only the Creative Zen Vision and Zen Vision:M are compatible with the ZenCast service. Copies of the software will begin shipping with both players in early 2006.
