For starters, there's a choice of lens colors for the fashionable crowd. Better yet, these can slip over prescription glasses just as well. Vuzix claims a revolutionary "see-thru" Quantum optics technology that doesn't block out the world around you, which is great since you don't want to stumble around half blind.
What's known so far? The 85g Wrap 310 features 428 x 240 dual LCDs with 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios capable of replicating a 55-inch screen projected 9ft away, and plays 2D and 3D movies and videos. Its upcoming Wrap 920 sibling throws a 60-inch projection. There's also focal adjustment for brightness, contrast and color saturation, video zoom, as well as an onscreen display for video display adjustment. Vuxiz is bundling in noise-isolating earphones, although the wearer can opt for his own favorite set of cans. Two AA alkaline batteries will yield a rated 6 hours of video playback.
The onboard ports for component, VGA and iPod docks means these wraps will hook up to just about any video device, from an iPod to iPhone, portable DVD, Blu-ray player and TV. Due out in October, the Wrap 310 will hit you between the eyes for US$249.95.
