Singapore-based Technologies and Systems Research (TSR) has announced its first Pico projector targeted at working professionals and students. Weighing only 180g, the miniature TP-100M combines an LCoS engine with LED lighting to deliver a respectable 50-inch projection of 10 lumens brightness. To ensure that the beamer is ready for a presentation and movie playback out-of-the-box, the company is also throwing in a few extra features. These include a microSD card slot, onboard multimedia player and 2W stereo speakers in the pocket-sized 125.6 x 55 x 19.5mm casing.
Compared with the competition such as the latest 3M MPro120, the TP-100M's 2-hour battery life is a bit lacking. Having said that, the American equivalent lacks the above-mentioned media player which is compatible with JPEG, AVI, WMV, RMVB (RealMedia) and other popular file formats. TSR did not indicate any launch details in its press release, though there're brief mentions of a mini and Windows CE-driven Pico projectors in its future product lineup.
