I bought x1 May 2009, have been using it for about 2 months, at first it seems pretty good for me.
But recently I do encounter occasional hang when surfing net and battery seem to be shorten to about less than a day if for constant use e.g msn, surf net, email etc
And now my phone not able to detect the storage card.
But in terms of comparison with Omnia which I have previously use, this is still much better as it have the Qwenty keypad which is rather more convenience when typing email.

I got mine too in November and never had any of the problems encountered by you!! Apart from occasional hang due to 3rd party software issues, mine was smooth and blazingly fast except when switching panels it takes 2 sec to load..is exceptable when you consider it load multiple active shortcuts on one panel..Till today i'm very impressed with my xperia X1, it can run many compatible programs simply a great combination of sony xperia panels, pointui, and touchflo3d by mid march 4 more panels ( skype, cnn, mytopia, etc) will be available for download..so explore and enjoy your sony xperia x1 !!

I got mine last Nov and had been encountering many problems.
First, I got my phone alawys with "Active Sync" even I don't use. It came out every now and then. Then I got my contact icon with ???, and you have to reset to have the icon name back. I send for repair and got back after X'mas and that's another nightmare.
Here are the list now I have been experiencing:
1. Active Sync always back on
2. Contact Icon ??? and have to reset phone
3. Power button at top can shutoff phone without asking for Yes/No.
4. When talking on ear piece, it became loud speaker when someone called.
5. When slide out, sometime became blank white screen.
6. when slide out, the top menu can't be selected.
7. When slide out, the cursor is misaligned, have to redo alignment.
8. Sometime, the align screen cannot come out, repeat and repeat, have to take out battery as can't see the power off Yes/No.
9. Once playing with sms and someone called, sliding back make the screen blank, stop the call by the button, ring tone stop but vibration never stop, and have to take out battery.
Now just send in for 2nd repair, and answer is to change the hardware and touch screen.
Anyboby experience this ?

The best I've gotten for battery life is about 2 days, with active usage (calls, messages, data comms, wifi). More realistic would be about 1.5 days when I do more web surfing. As you can only charge using USB, a full charge takes about 2-3 hours from low battery warning.
As I mentioned before, the Li-Polymer battery is happiest when charged early and often, and never fully discharge it (and this applies to any phone using such batteries).
