I turn off the auto scanning function and 3G but still didn't get more than 2 full days of battery life. It still last around 1.5 days. Not sure of this but think maybe its the trackball that is zapping the power of this phone. The light on the trackball is on always n there's no way switching it off.

you are right regarding WLAN scanning and battery life, i always have WLAN scanning set to OFF, when i need WLAN i use manual discovery, with the tool i already mentioned (www.handywi.com), it works well for me. however, it also has an option to auto-scan and autoconnect which just kills my battery (i keep that one to OFF as well)!

Heard from many that the bad life is quite bad and you need to charge every night with moderate usage or it would not be enough for you to last the next full day.
If anybody also faces the same problem, can you try to set your wlan to Never otherwise it would keep scanning and i suspect this is the main issue for the low batt life.
Wonder if anybody have any comments on this? And for those who facing low batt life issue, pls try my suggestion and see would there be any great improvement?

Samsung SGH-i550W
In Tech : Mobile TechDescription: The SGH-i550W has several things going for it, including a strong feature set matched with an attractive price and bundled accessories. But the implementation of both the software and hardware (trackball) has room for improvement.
