Back at CES 2010, D-Link showed off a prototype of what would be the first touch-based wireless router. The final product never materialized.

The Almond is good-looking and comes with two LAN ports and one WAN port.

The new router has a 320 x 240-pixel 2.8-inch full-color touch screen that takes care of its own setup and maintenance. Traditionally, a router comes with either desktop software or a Web interface (or both), which are generally complicated for nonsavvy users and require a computer to use. The new touch-based interface is designed to ease the challenge of setting up a new router.
The Almond is a simple, single-band Wireless-N device that offers top Wi-Fi speeds of 300Mbps. It has one WAN port and two LAN ports (most routers have four).
The router does not support dual-band, Gigabit, or USB devices. For this reason, it also comes with a relatively friendly price of just US$70.
Check back in a few weeks for a full review of the Securifi Almond router.
