The new Toshiba TL20-series 3D TVs are possibly some of the earliest adopters of Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) in Asia. Just like an HDMI interface, MHL allows users to play back content from a smartphone in resolutions up to full-HD quality and 7.1-channel surround sound. The Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Sensation are examples of compatible handsets currently available in the market.
But unlike HDMI, you can also charge the connected device and simultaneously access phone apps on the big screen using the TV's remote. The latter provides smart TV capabilities such as Web browsing with an option to enjoy the online content in 3D using the panel's 2D-to-3D function.
These Regzas are available in 40- and 46-inch sizes and will be launched in Singapore around mid-December at the earliest. Do check back for pricing at a later date. Here're some of the other key specifications.
