Sony introduces new W- and B-series Walkmans

Sony claims the new NWZ-W252 redresses these issues by being water-resistant (with a rating of IPx5) and washable. The Japanese company still recommends not fully immersing or leaving the player in continuous contact with water, however. The USB port is now a Mini-B type and covered, unlike being exposed as the first W-series Walkman.
Elsewhere, there isn't much change from the original. The memory capacity remains at 2GB, weight has gone up slightly to 43g, and battery life is rated at 11 hours maximum. The new player still retains the Zappin feature and handy quick-charge function, which claims to give 90 minutes of playback time from 3 minutes of charging. The NWZ-W252 is expected to go on sale at the end of this month, in a choice of black, white, pink or lime green.

Sony has also announced a refresh player for the B-series, the NWZ-B150. Here, we see a clever implementation of the jog dial which skips the music forward or backward. If flashing LEDs are your thing, the new B150 Walkman features a Bass Enhancer that will boost bass levels and blink the power LED in tune.
The device will come in 2GB (NWZ-B152F) and 4GB (NWZ-B153F) flavors and offer 18 hours of play time on a full charge of a rather quick 70 minutes. Other features include Zappin and quick-charge. The NWZ-B150 will come bundled with MDR-E804Y earphones.
The new Walkman will go on sale in early June, with black, pink, red, blue and gold colors to choose from. Prices have not been announced yet, but we'll update this as soon as more information comes in.
