We can't imagine the average Joe swaggering into the Porsche showroom in Singapore asking for the Porsche Design P'9522 phone. But if you have happen to have chump change of S$2,280 (US$1,831.91), that's exactly what you can do. Only 100 units are available and priority will be given to Porsche car owners. Of course, if you decide to buy a Porsche as a by the way, we're pretty sure they won't turn you away as well.
According to BrandLab, the sole distributor for the luxury phone, the P'9522 Black Edition will head off next to Hong Kong Thursday, before making its way to markets in China, Germany, Dubai and Russia.
The handset itself is made by Sagem Wireless, the same manufacturer which brought us the Puma Phone we saw at Mobile World Congress, as well as other kiddy delights like the Hello Kitty and Roxy models.
Typically, we'd gloss over the technical specifications of such luxury phones since they're more style than substance. But for those who want to know what they're missing out, the quad-band P'9522 Black Edition comes with a 2.8-inch WQVGA AMOLED display, fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 5-megapixel camera wrapped in a combination of mineral glass and aluminum chassis.
