DVD Camcorder that give you 3 meg still pics

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Fast focus, easy-to-use, clear captures.
Cons: pricey, 5.1 Ch built-in mic flutter bug.
Opinion:
Bought SONY DVD803E for my Dec to Phoenix Park ski resort trip after watching Extreme Ops movie where an Handycam was featured. Confirmed DVD803E at freezing temperature outdoor still function without any problem, shot ski & snow scenes got nice natural color, even though the attached wide-angle converter len habitually likes to fog-up a centre spot, remove the len let it thaw outside the chilling balcony for an hour fixed the foggy habit for the wide-angle len and thereafter using DVD803E is just a sheer joy all the way in that feezing weather.

CONFIRMED: Can't work with Mac

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros:
Cons:
Opinion:
But because it is dvd-based, you can just take the disc and it can be read directly in the dvd player of the Mac. At this point, can't edit on iMovie, so am still exploring. Heard I need to buy a software called ROXIO and an ILink cable in order to read/edit files on the Mac. Real troublesome. I also understand that there is not a single brand of vidcam that actually supports Mac users. Hope dvd makers will consider us Mac users and do something about it... soon!

THE ONLY ONE that works with the Mac!

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)

Cons:
Opinion:
Or so I'm told (contrary to the report here under "The Bad")! It was of primary concern to me when I went out to purchase this wonderful piece of equipment (was told that the Panasonic one, which was my original pref, is not compatible with Mac). I am going to download the CD rom provided with this Sony VC into my Mac tom and then will know if it works or not. Aside from that, I must say that Sony is always ahead of its pack in terms of design and, for a first-time VC owner like myself, the easy navigation makes it a darn good buy all in all. :)
