User Review for Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium)

Windows 7 a decent effort from Microsoft

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: easy install, faster processing, minimal background services, user friendly interface, Boosts internet download speed, driver support is vast, Homegroup Network is the best pick
Cons: Consumes 8GB HDD, Minor VGA Driver issue, No New Apps, Default sleep options
Opinion:
I Installed Windows 7 Enterprise (Still a release candidate) on my Lenovo 3000N100 running a Dual core 1.66Ghz 2GB RAM laptop. And have been testing it for a week now with no issues literally. The installation is easy, it picks up most drivers by default and trhe online update can fetch the rest. The graphics performance is great and it has greatly enhanced colour and sharpness of web images. IE 8 which comes by default had no glitches at all with windows 7.
The pick of all is the addition of Homegroup netowrk, i was able to share two pc's (both needs to be win7) in less than a minute.
Other interfaces have undergone minor changes with a better arrangement of devices in conmtrol panel and windows explorer. Although mostly resembling Vista.
The Calculator has got a new frame and is better now, MS Paint has got a facelift.
Otherwise no new applications have been added, except visual changes to look and feel. However the CPU load when system is idle is better and thanks to removing a huge junk of startup windows services.
It still takes the same time to boot or shutdown around a minute.
I also installed the same on Acer Aspire AOD150 netbook , and interestingly it works average on this too. Need a 2GB RAM though. I did find that copying files from and to USB or within system has been greatly improved in processing time.
