Very good
The good: Windows Vista Ultimate does improve some features within Windows XP; fewer system crashes than Windows XP; Windows Vista offers better built-in support options. 7.8
out of 10View score
The bad: Windows Vista Ultimate does not put Search on the desktop (it's buried within applications, within the Start Menu); optimized only for the Microsoft Windows ecosystem (for example, RSS feeds from Internet Explorer 7 get preferential treatment); there's simply too much and not all of it is implemented properly; no new software yet written exclusively for Windows Vista; and there are too many editions of Windows Vista.
The bottom line: Windows Vista is essentially warmed-over Windows XP. If you're currently happy with Windows XP SP2, we see no compelling reason to upgrade. On the other hand, if you need a new computer right now, Windows Vista is stable enough for everyday use.

Windows Vista is actually quite good if you don't think about the price.
May 4, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Good look, tons of new features.
Cons: Too expensive, needs high computer specs.
Opinion:
Windows Vista Ultimate comes with a brand new look and experience: Windows Aero. But unfortunately, it also needs a high computer specs.
A lot of new features comes to Vista but I have to agree with the person who reviewed below me, LOL245, that Vista IS kind of like a rip-off version of Mac OS X Leopard.

Sep 13, 2007Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: New search feature, new "shiny look", aero, basically a few OS X features Windows needed
Cons: A ripoff of OS X. You can never be as good as the original.
Opinion:
With windows Vista, you can finally find your folders and documents fater. Wait, isn't that what OS X Tiger was supposed to do?
This product is a complete ripoff of OS X.
Microsoft did manage to finally bring some deeply needed features like search and a new look and widgets. I mean gadgets. The new aqua interface is not a ripoff, but transparency is apparent in OS X's options and dock. Oops! I mean aero interface.
Get a life Bill. Create, don't steal. If you steal, do it right. Valiant effort at giving windows users a whiff of what the grass is like on the OS X side. Thanks, I think there will be more converts to the Mac because of Vista.
