Samsung outs nine laser printers

Although Samsung may not be the first name to pop into mind when buying laser printers, the firm has been manufacturing such machines since 1991. Today, the Korean chaebol updates its range of laser boxes targeted at both consumer and small/home office users.

The ML series sees the entry of the ML-1915 and ML-2525, both single-function mono laser printers. Housed in a matte-black casing, the duo look more stylish than their competitors. Print speeds are rated at 24 pages per minute (ppm) for the ML-2525 and 18ppm for the ML-1915. The new Print Screen feature allows users to output the content on the computer screen, which, Samsung claims it is smart enough to remove the frames and disclaimers so as not to waste paper.

If you're looking for multifunctional mono laser printers, the company's SCX lineup has four new machines. The SCX-4600 and SCX-4623F have similar specifications such as a top print speed of 22ppm, with the latter adding a fax function. The SCX-5635FN can output faster at 33ppm and has network connectivity besides a USB direct print function. For fax-intensive users, the SF-650P has 7MB of memory to store up to 500 pages of data. Its print speed, however, is slightly slower, at 18ppm.

Home/small offices which need to output color can look to the CLP family. The CLP-620ND and 670ND are both network-enabled to allow sharing of the printer and can print at 20ppm and 24ppm, respectively. The CLP-770ND is more suited for higher print volumes with its 500-sheet paper tray (double that of its siblings) and top print speed of 32ppm.
