Samsung's new printers seen at CeBITWhile the mention of Samsung conjures up images of mobile phones, the Korean electronics giant does more than that. Last year, it turned heads when it rolled out the stylish-looking, glossy, piano black SCX-4500 multifunction laser printer which received rave reviews for its unconventional design. Over at this year's CeBIT, we see it launching nine new printers, of which three are upgrades from previous models. While the printer's dimensions are shrinking, the style is not.
The color laser CLP-310 printer series and the CLX-3170 MFP (multifunction printer) series are the world's smallest and quietest in their class. Utilizing the exclusive NO-NOIS technology, this ensures the printer won't make a racket while printing your documents. Also in the new lineup is the SCX-4300. Succeeding the SCX-4200, the SCX-4300 gets an exterior overhaul and is clad in a two-tone glossy and matt-black finish. As one of the world's smallest mono MFPs in its class, the SCX-4300 is targeted at style-conscious professionals. For the home office or small business, Samsung is introducing the SCX-4824FN and SCX-4828FN. These two network-enabled mono printers also allow users to plug in a USB memory stick and print directly without the need to access a computer. The ML-1640 and ML-2240 are space-saving mono laser printers that are ideal for home or small business use. The speedy ML-1640 can churn out 16ppm (page per minute). while the ML-2240 prints at 22ppm. All these printers are being showcased in Hannover, Germany, at the CeBIT tradeshow. There are no concrete dates on when they will be available in the region, but Samsung says that these will be launched in Asia from May. Keep watching this space as we will update their price and availability once we get the information. |
