This small laser printer replaces the popular HP LaserJet 1012 and updates its USB port to version 2.0. Other than that, not much new here; the speed estimate of 14ppm remains the same, as does the 150-sheet paper tray and the single-sheet auxiliary paper feed slot. Ideal for single home user

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros:
Cons:
Opinion:
The prints are crisp. I was on an Epson earlier. This is a better machine in terms of printing and has lower maintenence. For its price, it's affordable for single home user. Its usb interface is good especially for my laptop. The best thing in the printer is the dual side manual printing. Good buy for its price.

Not as good as the 1010

Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros:
Cons:
Opinion:
The old 1010 worked fine on usb printservers, however the 1020 will not. I'm not sure if this is a deliberate ploy by hp to encourage buying the network version or just a bug but there certainly is no reference to this problem on their site or help pages... Other than that an excellent entry-level laser :o)
