User Review for Samsung CLP-300
Definitely a cheap colour laser printer in today's market, but its quality leaves much to be desired.
Mar 6, 2008Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: Low cash-and-carry pricing.
Cons: 1) Poor print quality (both black and colour) 2) Overheating 3) Yes, white fumes appear during printing, and they smell 'toxic' 4) Low running costs? Not true! Be prepared to buy replacement waste toner cartridge at around S$12.
Opinion:
After using it for under a year, discovered that 'streaks' appear in my printing. Referred to the user guide -- changed all colour cartridges and waste toner cartridge. Even opened the printer and cleaned the inside (recommended by user guide). Problem still exists.
The Samsung customer service is lousy. Called once to check on an error message. The lady simply wanted to get my contact details to send the tech guy over. She is supposed to handle the 'tech support' hotline but know nuts about the product. She promised to give me a follow-up call but it did not materialise.
If you are considering this printer, do look at more established brands. This printer used to cost S$400+ but the price has been slashed. Go figure out the reason. They are now targeting students. Students, beware. You have been warned.
