Pros: Gorgeous design, can print checks with MICR cartridge from checksnet.com
Cons: Tried to feed 30 sheets of paper from tray, chewed up internal gears, died.
Opinion:
Like women I've known, she lured me with her looks.

She was great when I installed a ChecksNet MICR toner cartridge. Printed a sheet of 3 perfectly aligned checks.
I was very impressed with the quietness during the print job.

Put about 80 sheets of plain white copy paper in the tray and tried to print a website page. Instead of feeding one sheet of paper, it jammed. When I removed the paper tray and looked inside, I could see that it tried to feed about 30 sheets of paper. Carefully removed them. When I turned the ML-1630 back on, I could hear gears grinding themselves to pieces (like when you throw some chicken bones into a kitchen sink disposal). It is very possible that the unit was damaged in shipping because I later found a giant hole in side of carton.

Apple is sending me a replacement and I'm hoping to get better results and update this review or post a new one in a few days.
