The good: Good implementation of voice prompts for FM radio; inclusion of FM, voice recorder and equalizer.
The bad: Poor battery life; no display.
The bottom line: A commendable attempt at a display-less MP3 player, the Super Tangent is one for potential iPod shuffle buyers hoping for something more than an MP3 player.

Rip-off eh? But the quality's ok!
by kk - Aug 11, 2005

Well, it is a shuffle ripoff... but I've bought one and it's ok! The price is quite cheap and it also has an FM tuner and a voice recorder. The recording quality is good and there is a voice navigation system which helps u to identify the preset FM channels. The buttons are comfortable. It's only the front light (the green one) is a bit weak. There are even other variations of this model with lcds! For me it's really a good bargain.

It's good
by Joe - Aug 02, 2005

The player works fine and there are 2 LCD lights on the face of the unit. The green one is a bit weak but it's there. The player works great and is perfect as an on-the-go mp3 player to supplement your HD player. shuffle works great, radio is great and voice record sounds excellent. CNET favors the ipod and you can tell just by its nitpick of Apple's proprietary formats AAC + Audible beating out Linux support,WMA (drm) as well as accessory comparison was a crock as well. 90% of the shuffle accessories will fit the Tangent. I have an iSkin on mine right now. Charging docks would fit just fine. It's the USB that fits into the dock, not the rest of the unit.
