The last of the year's PC fairs is finally here. Our intrepid scouts have suffered swollen feet, bruised toes and bashed elbows to bring you CNET Asia's most comprehensive shopping guide to SITEX. True, it's a mad, mad bazaar. So for those who have no time, can't decide what to get or foolhardy enough to brave the weekend hordes at Singapore Expo, we've made it easier for you with our Top 5 picks of the best deals at the show, in no particular order.

Toshiba Regza 46X3500E
A further S$1,499 cash discount puts this Editors' Choice 1080p LCD TV at an all-time rock-bottom low in pricing. It can't get any better than that. Based on previous shows that we've attended, there might be further price cuts if stock are not cleared by show's end.

Philip Wong, senior writer
A sweet full-HD panel would be nice for my living room and I don't have to burn a huge hole in my wallet if go along with the Regza 46X3500E.

Palm Tungsten E2
With so many new PDA-phones out on the market, it's easy to forget that some people just want something to manage their calendar, contacts and take notes. This is why the E2 is such a good deal. It will fulfill basic needs without making the buyer pay for features he doesn't need. At the show, it even comes with a free wireless keyboard--perfect for students who need to work with long documents on campus.

John Chan, senior writer
For myself, I'm looking for something else. Though a few generations behind the current crop of laser mice, the Logitech MX518 optical gaming mouse is a steal at S$39 that I'm considering.

Asus Eee PC 701
For less than the price of a PDA-phone, this little baby can surf the Internet, play your video and audio files as well as allow you to check your mail and do your office work. Granted the 4GB of storage space is anemic, but one can always plug in an 8GB SDHC card for more space. Despite being inexpensive, the build quality is surprisingly solid and the small keyboard rather usable.

Darius Chang, senior writer
So does this mean I will be taking the plunge with this machine? At the current price, it takes massive willpower not to. However, news of an upcoming 8GB model begs for patience and I hope the screen will finally be capable of at least 1,024-pixel wide resolution. I really hate having to scroll left and right for some wider Web pages. This time round, I'll be saving up instead of spending.

Olympus Mju 790 SW
With increasingly cutthroat competition, most cameras are being bundled with two 1GB flash cards at a minimum. Anything less is simply not worth your while unless the camera in question is spanking new. This shooter stands out with a bundle that includes a Creative MP3 player along with a cash discount off the sticker price.

Edvarcl Heng, senior writer
Almost any camera is capable of taking decent pictures if you know how. For myself, I'm eyeing a dSLR instead. For those times when, like myself, you crave a little more exposure control without having to pay through the nose, this old favorite (with kit lens) of a Nikon D40 is priced just right.

LG L226WT-WF
While you can get 22-inch LCD monitors below S$400 at the SITEX fair, not many of them come with the impressive specifications you can find on this LG panel. The standard 1,680 x 1,050 resolution aside, it's rated with a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, one of the highest we've seen so far for a sub-S$400 22-inch offering. Its quick 2ms response time will also go well with those planning to play fast-action games. And just in case it's too heavy to lug along, the vendor has considerately supplied a free trolley with purchase.

Reuben Lee, editor
For me, it's a toss up between a 22- and 24-inch LCD monitor or a point-and-shoot digital camera with long optical zoom. The LG L226WT-WF is probably my first choice for a 22-inch monitor, but I'm swayed toward the Dell E248WFP which at last count was going for S$589. As for the camera, I'm attracted by the Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd with its wide-angle lens and 18x optical zoom which is now bundled with freebies at the show.
