While you can get 22-inch LCD monitors below S$400 at the SITEX fair, not many of them come with the impressive specifications you can find on this LG panel. The standard 1,680 x 1,050 resolution aside, it's rated with a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, one of the highest we've seen so far for a sub-S$400 22-inch offering. Its quick 2ms response time will also go well with those planning to play fast-action games. And just in case it's too heavy to lug along, the vendor has considerately supplied a free trolley with purchase.

For me, it's a toss up between a 22- and 24-inch LCD monitor or a point-and-shoot digital camera with long optical zoom. The LG L226WT-WF is probably my first choice for a 22-inch monitor, but I'm swayed toward the Dell E248WFP which at last count was going for S$589. As for the camera, I'm attracted by the Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd with its wide-angle lens and 18x optical zoom which is now bundled with freebies at the show.
