LG LCD flatron LCD
At One Fullerton yesterday, LG's new generation of ultra-high contrast ratio LCD monitors with proprietary Digital Fine Contrast (DFC) technology made their first appearance near the mouth of the Singapore river.
With 10 new LCDs under its belt, the Korean company claims this latest range of displays to have the highest contrast ratios (between 1,400:1 and 2,000:1) currently available in the market. High-bandwidth Digital Contents Protection (HDCP) support allows its monitors to offer the full experience of high-definition content. Combined with DFC technology, low response rates and preset brightness levels, these panels offer clearer, brighter and crisper images.
Performance aside, LCD manufacturers recognize the fact that performance may be secondary when it comes to fitting the unit to suit the room decor. Seemingly in answer to that need, LG's L1900 "Fantasy" series gives the nod and makes a strong aesthetic statement with three different stand designs and bold black-and-red hues.
With its aims of achieving US$10 billion (S$15.79 billion) in sales and becoming the top vendor in the global display market, the Korean chaebol's bread-and-butter strategy lies in the areas of technology and new standards. As Sang Han Yoon, executive vice president and CEO of LGE Digital Display company, puts it:"LG will continue the trend with the upgraded models and position itself as global leader in digital display."
