BEST OF CES 2006
As always, CES will be packed with announcements from computer and component manufacturers. Here are some of the trends we expect to see for laptops and desktops and the components therein.
FLASH BACK
Hardware at CES 2005
The doors to CES 2006 have opened. But first, check out what happened exactly a year ago...

HOT GEAR FOR '06

Kodak
Desktop
Desktops which make the grade for display at CES 2006 are no ordinary business machines. Created to push the boundaries, these systems embody raw computing power.

Kodak
Input devices
To have output, one must first have input. Though some of the new devices merely improve upon the traditional, there are others which break the barriers of convention.

Pentax
Storage products
Like money, there is no such thing as too much storage space. The traditional magnetic disk platter and DVD format are starting to show their age. Using advanced optical technology, disk space in the tetabytes will soon become the norm.

Display
What goes in must come out. One of the most vital components of a system, CES 2006 introduces new ways in which your computer communicates to you what's going on inside.

Wireless equipment
Wires are so passe. With the latest Wi-Fi standard racing at speeds which were once the sole domain of wired networks, tangled cords may soon become a historical lexicon.

Technology
"The journey of a thousand miles begin with a single step". Every technological advance, no matter how seemingly insignificant, changes the world in ways which, once upon a time, would be considered magic.
