Asus may have missed the bulletin on the economic crisis. While most vendors are focusing on value offerings, the Taiwanese maker's latest lineup at this week's CeBIT 2009 in Hannover, Germany, hits the entire spectrum of the mobile computing market with Netbooks and Nettops, as well as high-end models.
One can say that Asus brought the Netbook concept into the spotlight with the original Eee PC 701. But with each proceeding addition to the Eee PC family, things get a little muddled for consumers as, most of the time, the changes are internal. The newly announced Eee PC Seashell 1008HA seeks to differentiate itself with a pearlescent casing, while the Eee PC T91 is its first convertible tablet PC with an Atom chipset.
Netbooks

Asus Eee PC Seashell 1008HA |
The white casing on this Eee PC gives it a sheen which no other machines possess. Under the hood, this 10.1-inch Netbook has a 92 percent keyboard, multitouch trackpad, Bluetooth and 802.11n radio. The Eee Docking, a proprietary desktop application, allows syncing of documents and messages to other Eee PC users (Eee Sharing), as well as access to multimedia entertainment (Eee Arena). |

Eee PC T91 |
The first Atom-based convertible tablet PC from Asus, the T91 sports an 8.9-inch touchscreen and offers a 5 hour battery life despite its light 0.96kg frame. It comes with Draft-N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSDPA, GPS and TV tuner built-in. |
Details are a little sparse at the moment, but the new line of Asus laptops are not simply run-of-the-mill models with marginal component upgrades. From a massive 1TB SSD in the Lamborghini VX5 to the ultraslim U/UX series, these new notebooks should give you something to salivate over while waiting for them to hit retail shelves.
Laptops

Asus Lamborghini VX5 |
Asus Lamborghini laptops are not cheap, with the latest variant, the VX5, likely cost the earth as it's the first to feature an enormous 1TB solid-state drive. The 16-inch machine also comes with a quad-core chip, Blu-ray drive as well as the latest 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M graphics card. |

Asus' dual-screen concept laptop |
If one screen is good, then two must be better. This concept model is the result of Asus' Community Designed PC project and allows the laptop to function in different modes. It can be opened like an ebook, or flipped and used as a tablet PC with multitouch gestures. Activate the virtual keyboard and trackpad and it becomes a regular clamshell laptop. |

Asus U/UX series |
The U and UX are the latest Asus ultraslim laptops. They feature backlit keyboards with the same individual keys found on Apple MacBooks. The UX is an ultraportable machine with a slot-in DVD drive, while the U is a 15.6-inch midsized notebook with a 500GB harddisk and the new 512MB Nvidia GeForce G105M graphics card. The U also has an illuminated trackpad, which leaves a lit trail of finger movements. |

Asus K series |
The first laptop to sport with the new ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4860 or Nvidia GeForce G series graphics card, the K series comes with 15- or 17-inch screens. Asus also claims a 5 hour uptime with a six-cell battery using its Super Hybrid Engine application, which is impressive for a midsized machine. |

Asus N series |
The N series is coated with a NVM (non-conductive vacuum metallization) film which offers the aesthetics and toughness of metal without interfering with Wi-Fi waves. There are four models announced (N81, N51, N60 and N71) though details on specs are not available at this time. |

Asus M90Gf |
One of the first laptops to feature the Nvidia MCP79MH mainboard, the M90Gf can hold a massive 16GB of RAM, thanks to four SODIMM slots. No further information is available for this model, but, suffice to say, it will probably come with a 64-bit operating system to overcome the 3GB limit on 32-bit systems. |
Small-form-factor PCs are so yesteryear. The Asus Eee PC keyboard brings desktop computing to new heights by hiding a full-fledged computer under a slim keyboard. The Eee Box is also quite impressive in a different way, being the first Nettop to be capable of handling high-definition video.
Nettops

Asus Eee Box B206 |
Thanks to its 256MB ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics processor, this 1.6GHz Atom processor PC with 1GB of RAM is able to handle high-definition video of up to 1080p, a first for a low-cost Nettop. Running on Windows XP Home, other features include a 160GB HDD, HDMI, Draft-N radio and VESA bracket for mounting behind a monitor. |

Eee PC Keyboard |
Though it was announced long before CeBIT, this amazing PC impressed enough to win first place in the CeBIT Preview awards. Hiding a complete 1.6GHz Atom-based PC (1GB RAM, 16/32GB SSD) inside a slim keyboard, it still manages a competent feature set with a 5-inch touchscreen display, two USB ports, VGA, HDMI, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. |
