--Apple joins NTU campus purchase program. Prices have also been updated for currently available laptops.
With a campus located in the far west of the island state, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) students will surely appreciate having a laptop to work on during their daily commute. Buying a machine under the university purchase program has its advantages, one of which is a three-year on-campus warranty coverage. In addition, the following free software are included in the PC:
Microsoft Vista Business Edition
Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
This information is based on notebook deals currently offered to the staff and students of Nanyang Technological University (NTU). However, conditions apply for those who have previously purchased notebooks under this scheme.
Do note
that the models we reviewed may not have the exact same configurations
as the models being offered for campus use. For example, the NTU Toshiba Portege R500 featured has a 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo U7700 processor whereas the test unit we reviewed incorporated a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo U7600 chip.
