HP upscales its printing

BEIJING, CHINA--HP Tuesday launched a range of mobile solutions including four new notebooks, a small-form-factor desktop and two iPaq handhelds.

One of the product highlights was the Compaq Presario B1900 notebook. Labeled by HP as "Designed in Asia for Asia" (DIAFA), this ultraportable is created specifically to meet the needs of the regional market.

Those hot new models

The HP iPaq rx4000 is the company's latest handheld. With a range of features comprising a 2.8-inch display, flexible view options and scrollwheel for one-handed operation as well as integrated wireless options (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), it's part of what Chin Hon Cheng, vice president for HP's Personal Systems Group, describes as a blending of HP technology into lifestyles in order to empower consumer mobile freedom.

The other four new notebooks are part of the Palo Alto giant's extension of its laptops bearing the same industrial design first launched in April this year. Developed based on HP's research in consumer design preferences, the new notebooks have also been updated technically to keep up with the latest range of Intel Core Solo, Core Duo, Centrino Duo as well as AMD processors.

The HP Pavilion Slimline s7500-series small-form-factor PC is a first for the company. Designed to be space-saving and customizable in terms of outlook, users can design and print their own CoolSkinz stickers to personalize their desktop. Previously available only in certain parts of Asia Pacific, the s7500 will be launched in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand in Q4 of 2006.
