The perfect Netbook for your mom
The image of mothers as plump matrons stuck in the kitchen is so outdated, it isn't even funny as a joke. The modern mom is both chic and stylish, and probably as at home with technology as the 15-year old brat she gave birth to.
Though Sony doesn't consider its Vaio P series a Netbook, this is without a doubt the sexiest Atom-based minilaptop in the market. The slim profile allows this machine to be kept in the smallest bag, while the elongated design provides space for a comfortable keyboard to boot. If the Vaio is a little out of your budget, check out to the HP Mini Vivienne Tam Edition which is designed to look more like a purse than a Netbook. The sporty mom Heaven forbid we call her clumsy, but a sporty lifestyle means the Netbook has to withstand the occasional knocks and drops since she is likely to throw her bag down next to the tennis court. The BenQ JoyBook Lite U101 is the only subportable to be tested for survivability in drops of up to 30cm and a 50kg crushing force. No worries there, mom. The frequent flyer mom Parents these days take more overseas trips than ever before. If she loves to pamper herself by traveling to distant destinations for some personal time, grab the Asus Eee PC 1000HE for her. This minilaptop claims an astounding 11 hours of battery life, which is enough for a quick weekend getaway even if she forgets to bring a charger. The career mom For the woman who wants it all, from a family to a high-flying career, a reliable machine built for durability is what she needs. Enter the Fujitsu M1010, Lenovo IdeaPad S10 and HP Mini 2140. The Fujitsu model comes with a three-year warranty coverage, which speaks volumes on the confidence the Japanese maker has for its product. We like the Lenovo S10 for its One-Key Recovery system that allows her to backup and restore the machine at the touch of a button. The Mini 2140 is designed for the business professional and comes with an aluminum chassis, HP Durakey and DriveGuard for added durability. It doesn't hurt that this minilaptop comes with a full-sized ExpressCard slot, either. The full-time homemaker mom She probably already has access to the home desktop most of the time, so don't waste too much moolah getting her a relatively expensive Netbook. The S$698 (US$513.90) Acer Aspire One AOD150 is one of the cheapest 10.1-inch models in the market and comes in a range of attractive colors to boot. This leaves you more cash out for bring her to a nice restaurant dinner. Tags: Mom, Netbook, Sony Vaio, Fujitsu Ltd., Sony Corp.

My mom is not getting any younger and I dont wanna give a gift that will be a paper weight.
I meant, with a small screen of the netbook, she will have to squint to see stuff.
What a mom really wants is love. Gifts dont do any good.
