Asus strikes again
Nov 21, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: bigger screen,SSD,ultraportable,lightweight,solid built
Cons: available in white & black only
Opinion:
Netbooks are not meant to replace your PC but as secondary PC which you can carry around just about anywhere. With this in mind the Asus Eee PC 900 does it job well. Been using it for 3 months now and I'm happy with its performance. I installed Windows XP and its running smoothly. I was supposed to buy the 701 but I fell in love with the 900's gorgeous 8.9" screen. The speakers under are not so loud but they sound good for their size. And for just under $400 I say its a pretty good buy!
Best UMPC for the price
Jun 1, 2008Rating: 10 out of 10 (Perfect)
Pros: Bigger screen and performance than the 701
Cons: Hard drive could be larger, quality of material looks cheap
Opinion:
For the price, this is a better choice than the HP mini note 2133 since the Celeron M is more responsive than the VIA. After uninstalling a few programs i.e. works etc. it is perfect for checking email or web surfing on the go. I connect to the internet through my N95 with US 3G via bluetooth (bluetooth dongle connected to my 900) and I get broadband speed anywhere with no cable. It's quick enough to handle MS Office 2003 especially for powerpoint presentations, just plug in a USB flash drive and thanks for having 3 USB ports you have plenty of connectivity options. The battery usually last me 2.5 hours and that is plenty for me. With the built in webcam and mic, it's easy move around the house while using YM or AOL on making calls overseas. Speakers are ok but not as loud as my 701. All in all it's a great UMPC and it does what ... Read more

well done!
May 19, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: cheap, fast startup and shutdown
Cons: 4400mAh battery life sucks
Opinion:
amazing device, cheap and lots of functionality. not the fastest around but good enough for internet, word, excel, web programming and maybe some 2D games.
One major spoiler, battery life is bad and power management is not good.
touchpad buttons are a little bit sticky, but touchpad control is quite good
got windows to startup in 25s-30s and shutdown in 10-15s, installed portableapps on the SD and work mostly from there.
ASUS company is dreaming again!
May 18, 2008Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: Neil
Cons: Low memory, slow processor, no touch screen it is a waste of money...
Opinion:
ASUS is in the never never land of Michael Jackson. The company is dreaming again..A motherboard company turn to building notebook. Nice try but its a totally waste of money. Keep dreaming, I'm not fascinated with this model..Please, calling all motherboard companies that are made in china/taiwan let this technology to the hands of Japanese experts.
