Good computer ... while it lasts...

Pros: Good Bang-for-buck, beautiful outercasing, fast enough for regular usage, sd/xpresscard
Cons: rubber base pads came off the day i bought it, motherboard has completely failed, comes with vista (no xp choice),
Opinion:
This is my second windows notebook and i must say that THIS IS A VERY BAD NOTEBOOK! My IBM Thinkpad was much better than this! It has only been one year and the notebook's motherboard is gone and it keeps switching off in irregular time periods (almost as short as ten mins). Worse is SONY's customer support, the guy i talked to rushed me on the phone, and just told me to bring it to the service center. When i brought it there, i found out they charge $120 + whatever parts for service. And with my warranty just expired, its a complete waste of my money right now. (BTW, sony does not allow upgrading your warranty, which is odd)
I don't mind Vista being pre-installed, but they should at least have good driver support for XP at least. When i install the drivers for xp, many of the features don't work and it becomes a headache to use the ... Read more
