When it comes to top-of-the-line, the Asus U6 certainly holds nothing back. Sure, its leather exterior may be nothing to shout about, but under the hood we are talking about a hybrid harddisk (more on that later) and 3G (HSDPA) connectivity. Though it is the successor to the U1f, the U6 manages to maintain a slim and light profile while offering an integrated optical drive. It gives other premium models like the Sony Vaio TZ and Fujitsu LifeBook Q2010 a run for their money.

Asus 1GB Ram???

Pros: Fast processor
Cons: Pathetic memory
Opinion:
After reading the reviews, I thought "You've gotta be kidding, 1Gig of ram with Vista Ultimate?" The damn thing would freeze before It even boots up! Why Asus has released this notebook with ram specs backdated 2 years Is beyond me.

AS for the Vista O/S, people should take 10 minutes of their time seriously to explore It's capabilities, rather than reading everyone else's negativity.

asus is performance. vista isn't.

Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: light, zippy, not-toshiba, actually honors warranty unlike toshiba
Cons: needs more ram, better use of dead space south of keyboard
Opinion:
I'd rather chew off my own fingers than use vista, dawn of a new draconia.

I'm not looking forward to reinstalling the OS on a new notebook. XP Pro or MCE should be the default option.

Cons: no card reader
Opinion:
Just bought a ASUS G1S, love it but been wanting to downsize but retain connectivity and other features such as webcam. This computer has it all, faster chip, etc. I have to have it.
