First Take

By Darius Chang

When the Sony SZ series was first launched, it broke new ground as being the only notebook in the market to incorporate both an integrated and discrete graphics solution (GPU) in one package. There are two ranges available: The cheaper magnesium-alloy models and the more costly carbon-fiber units. With its slim design and strong performance, it is more than a match for the Fujitsu LifeBook S6410 premium, a magnesium-clad notebook which costs almost as much as the VAIO SZ carbon-fiber laptops. However, if you can do without the integrated GPU module, then the Dell XPS M1330 is a much cheaper alternative (not to mention that the XPS has a choice of colors as well).

Vaio battery life

Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Light, works well
Cons: Battery life, need new battery after 12 months use
Opinion:
Vaio performs well for my needs, portability, lightweight, but.. I now have to buy a new battery for this computer after only 12 months use. The original battery is completely dead.

Great and Expensive

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: top end features
Cons: price
Opinion:
very good laptop, on the higher end of the price spectrum.

what your paying for is the weight saving carbon fiber.

If you really carry your laptop around its worth getting the lightest laptop you can afford.

If you don't move your laptop at all or very little you can get similar features in a more affordable package.

FAST N EASY TO USED

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: FAST AND EASY
Cons: SO FAR NO COMMEND YET
Opinion:
I just got this model of the Sony notebook while i am very happy with it as the keyboard feeling is different comparing with the older sz series. The screen is brighter and clearer....dun say abt the speed.

With the latest Duo 2 cpu and 2GB of ram is very generous for nowdays usaged as i found that the limitation of the Ram upgrade is only things i noticed.

So far i had not yet facing the problem of the motherboard as now testing period by using a long hours. As what i experienced before.

Anyway, i would like to say Sony is the only company so far i will continue to buy their products not only pc,amd others electrical products. As i found that they are serious on the Quality of their Products and Services because when the products fails for many times and will exchanged for you one to one.

Thanks Sony Malaysia.
