HP Pavilion dv2500 (Core 2 Duo T7300 processor 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM)
CNET Asia Review
Very good
The good: Strong set of specs for price; performance almost matches that of more expensive laptops; attractive 14.1-inch display; dual headphone jacks and fingerprint reader; includes most of the ports and connections home users need. 7
out of 10View score
The bad: Average battery life with the standard six-cell battery; opting for an HDMI port means sacrificing a USB port.
The bottom line: The HP Pavilion dv2500 delivers an eye-catching case, a strong set of features, and solid performance at a lower price than competing systems. We recommend it for home or school use.

laptop had problem in 3 months of purchase
Jul 25, 2008Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: none
Cons: support sucks
Opinion:
laptop was sent back to me without being repaired.microphone problems existed.
Was on a support call with a technician for 3 hours and problem still remains unsolved. would never buy or recommend a HP product ever again.
Quite bad performnace
Feb 4, 2008Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: good looking
Cons: slow with vista
Opinion:
I bought this product two days back. I think performance is not upto the mark or I can say its quite slow with all the heavy features of vista.
So would prefer XP SP2 on this configuration than vista.
Does what it was designed to do but support for XP is poor
Jan 4, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Worked very well so far. All devices worked as indicated.
Cons: HP support for XP is non-existant
Opinion:
The unit I have is dv2513tu. It came with Vista Ultimate 64 pre-installed. It had worked well for me so far. However, I wanted to dual-boot Vista with XP. Various forums for HP have trends indicating that many users wanted either to dual-boot with XP or downgrade to XP. However, everyone seemed to have multiple problems with drivers for HP. HP support site provided only XP drivers for 4 of the devices. For the rest, you have to find out from various forums by trial and error. Even when I got to HP support, they tell you to go find out from the Internet! They don't support XP on these new notebooks. Can you believe that?
