Do not waste your money!!!
Nov 29, 2009Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: None
Cons: Died under 2 years of use....
Opinion:
I bought my DV9500 in Feb 08 and it died on Oct 09. After some further research I found that the NVIDIA Graphics chips that these pcs were built with are inherrently faulty, NVIDIA have admitted this. HP have very poor customer service and will not acknowledge that this model includes the fault, therefore I am fighting with the store I bought my machine from for a refund as the pc is not fit for purpose. Google NVIDIA Defect and you will find lots of info regarding this fault...........
Don't waste your money on this pc or any other with the NVIDIA Graphics chip.
Very unreliable
Jun 4, 2009Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: Good looks and good performance of the processor
Cons: Cheap build quality
Opinion:
I have been using my dv9500 for the past one and half years (purchased in Nov 2007). I have never felt confident of the quality of the build and it seems very fragile.
Although the overall performance of the machine is quite satisfactory (barring the problems that Vista creates), the machine generally is not the best product out there.
I have had couple of problems starting with the power cable that had to be replaced, and now i am struggling with the cracked LCD panel and broken hinges. This has been a problem with the dv series of laptop from HP and seems like its not been resolved with the 9500 either. The problem usually comes after the warranty period and so is the case with me. I am currently struggling to get the problem resolved.
Overall, very unsatisfactory product and not what i expected from HP.
HORRIBLE WASTE OF MONEY
Feb 6, 2009Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: None
Cons: Unrelaible and Unrepairable
Opinion:
I had my unit for 1.5 years. In that time the hard drive blew and had to be replaced 2ce, now the unit has died and I was just informed by the repair center that it is beyond repair. While it was working, it was inconsistent and unreliable. I would never again waste my money on this unit.
I could have just gotten a lemon, but why take the chance ??
