The good: Low priced; powerful graphics performance; excellent high-resolution LCD panel.

The bad: Noisy fan; very bulky; squishy plastics; ho-hum battery life.

The bottom line: ECS has again delivered a machine with a mix of highs and lows: Great graphics power contained in a very bulky, noisy machine. While execs should stay away, students and gamers will love the ECS Green 732.

desktop replacement (and not to be moved around)

Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: powerful
Cons: too many
Opinion:
bought this second hand, so the previous owner's treatment might affect things.

this is the fastest laptop I've ever own, but also the heaviest. definitely desktop replacement. fast and powerful, but the list of downsides is longer. its so hot, you would never want to put it on your lap. its so noisy, so prepare to get comment from people around you.

Mine just recently broke its power-slot (YES!), after few weeks of using it on the bed. so keep it sitting on a table.

shortly before this the monitor also failed (not completely, but to the point 1 color is dominant than the others).

the other thing is that it seems I just cannot connect my iPod to its USB ports. (it always ask for reformatting my iPod, while it works fine in my Toshiba laptop).
can be helped only by using USB2.0 adapter (PCMCIA)

Problems Problems

Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: 6
Cons: 9
Opinion:
I have been impressed on the whole with is performance but as the machine gets older, problems with overheating seems to become more and more of a problem. Battery lasts little more that an hour and now my computer shuts down 9 or 10 times a day. Overheating probabaly.........anyone know how to fix this problem?

Noisy but effective

Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros:
Cons:
Opinion:
Computer is very loud. Computer overheats with high-powered applications. Not really a laptop - more of a desktop than anything else. Battery life is no good. Computer is okay for its price i guess.
