User Review for Lenovo IdeaPad S10 (Intel Atom N270 Processor 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM)
Value for money, no-frills ultra-portable
Dec 2, 2008Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Value for money, good keyboard, built-in camera & sturdy construction
Cons: No built-in disc drive, fairly heavy for its size, fairly slow start-up time
Opinion:
Bought this at the recent SITEX 2008 and upgraded to a 6-cell battery as well as 2MB RAM all for $799.
This is for my wife's use so that she'll leave my IBM X60 alone and not download silly stuff onto it.
Serves her purpose of connecting to the net, email-ing, watching internet movies, skype-ing and trading stocks. Its such a portable machine but not so small that you can't use it. Plus, it feels sturdy. Only drawback is that despite its dimunitive size (10" screen), its not as light as it could be e.g. it weighs almost like my IBM X60 (which is 12.1").
