User Review for Lenovo Y400 (Core 2 Duo T5500 processor 1.66GHz; 1GB RAM)
Value for money with high quality graphics
Oct 16, 2008Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Great graphics & video quality, connectivity options and stylish design. Decent battery life.
Cons: Very low sound from the speakers, plastic body on the sides feels flimsy
Opinion:
I bought this laptop primarily for gaming & multimedia and the excellent graphics does make gaming fun on this machine. However, i find the speakers barely audible...always have to plug in external speakers or headphone while watching movies.
Battery life is good and the plastic body makes the laptop lightweight for its size. (The charger is quite bulky though).
The plastic body feels a bit flimsy from the sides and bends a bit under pressure. Also the USB ports on the side are not affixed completely to the casing and i fear that i might accidentally snap them off some day.
The body-integrated touchpad looks very stylish but i sometimes have problems working with it. Guess my wrists hang low while typing and i accidentally move the cursor while typing.
Overall, a great buy for the price but make sure you can live with the sound output and the touchpad before you buy this machine.
