User Review for Asus Eee PC 901 (Intel Atom N270 Processor 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM)
Very good upgrade to the original version...
Aug 11, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Surprisingly fast considering its specs...
Cons: Price lands it into low-end full-featured laptops...
Opinion:
I tried this unit on display during a recent trip in the States... and oh boy it's a faster version of the original Eee pc. for a netbook, it opens MS Office applications fast... boot time is decent as well, and keyboard is usable. The downside during my brief use - practically nothing, for a netbook. However, at this price, the question of the moment is - would you settle for this unit versus a full-featured, low-end laptop running on Pentium Pro? As a second laptop, this is great. But as a first laptop for users moving from desktop, not quite.
