User Review for Fujitsu LifeBook P8010 (Core 2 Duo SL7100 Processor 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM)
Good looking over priced laptop with China parts in it
Apr 8, 2008Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Light weight and small
Cons: Under powered CPU, Weak Wifi, No PCI-Express card, Horrible speakers
Opinion:
I picked up this laptop in Hong-Kong a few weeks ago. I had ordered a Mobi 3000 Flash SSD hoping to speed things up. The flash SSD really did help but the system was still slow even after installing the Flash SSD. The speakers on this laptop were one of the worst I have seen. I had a Fujitsu P7010 and these speakers were by far worse then their older model. My HTC P3600i speakerphone speaker sound better and louder then the speakers on this laptop and it only comes with one speaker on the HTC. I lalso have a new MACBOOK and the wifi reception on the Macbook is much better then the reception on this laptop.
My older Fujitsu P7010 was all made in Japan using Japanese components on the inside. Upon opening this laptop up I noticed the Wifi was made in China,HDD was made in Thailand,Battery in Taiwan and various other components in this laptop were made in China. So much for the made in Japan label on the outside. The keypad also has lots of flex to it and the keypad came with English stickers on it. For a $2000+ laptop they could have made a better laptop. the built quality on this laptop is not up to the Fujitsu P7010 standards.
Last but not least is the battery life. Even with the Flash SSD and LED screen the battery has a shorter lifespan then that of my Macbook. If I had the option of going back I would get the Asus U6SG laptop instead.
