User Review for Acer TravelMate 8215WLMi (Core 2 Duo T7200 Processor 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM)
Good, minor hiccups
Oct 20, 2006Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Good Specs
Cons: Some design hiccups
Opinion:
I bought one for my wife. Specs are good but I think design layout needs some consideration. Here are my comments :
1. Logo stickers. Located at the lower left corner. But the thing here is, it touches my wrist and it's kinda irritating because of the embossed stickers of Intel, Windows Vista Capable ans ATI. I wish they didn't put the BIGGGG specs sticker as well at the right side, it ruins the look.
2. The exhaust fan is in the right side. So if you are using a mouse, your arm and/or hand and mouse will be blown with this hot air which after a long time is unbearable.
3. I just wish they have put on more buttons for the system functions like volume, hibernate and standby. As of now, they are part of FN buttons.
4. Still adjusting on the home, pagedn, pageup, del, insert buttons which is located at the far right arranged in a vertical position. I think I'm just used to HP and IBM notebooks which is closer to the desktop keyboard layout.
3. Technical hiccup as of now for me is that the FireWire is not working. They said it is configurable in the ePower management, but there is no button to turn on or off the Firewire. Tech Support needs also to be more speedy in their replies.
