Sony Vaio VGN-P15G (Intel Atom Z530 Processor 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM)

Sony got it all wrong again

trackstick?! bah! sony price premium?! for the price go buy youself an asus eee pc 1000h and a brandnew smartphone and you'll be a happy man!

Sony Sony Sony, Why do you have to make something and charge a premium. This gadget will only be used as a secondary device, you like it or not. Not many want that to be expensive. As what the prev poster said get a eee pc or even acer aspire and you would be happy.

Too expensive for a netbook - typical SONY

I personally love the design of this P15G but reality speaks better than dream.... the price is too expensive for a netbook - typical SONY.

Nonetheless I saw a video somewhere in the internet (actually in here www.dannychoo.com...) ... the boot time for this machine is over 3 minutes...

That's a joke for a netbook... for me personally that's too slow... my 1 year old low powered Asus EeePC-701 can just be ready for use after exactly 2 minutes.

If the price is a little cheaper - say close to MSI Wind U100 and/or Lenovo Ideapad S10 ... I don't mind to get this... but at the current price, I better buy a cheaper brand full pledge notebook with lots of stuff inside...

Truly this machine is for woman.... who don't care what's under the hood but rather concern more about looks.

Agree

It's typical SONY - if they don't charge premium, then its no longer a SONY product... HAHAHAHA..

Crazy pricing

Well, as per the Bush saying, Sony definately have become a brand for the have more's club.
The Sony guys surely have great designers to offer stuff that look diffrent from outside, but when it comes to competetion, inside its all the same.
As many readers have already said, its like buying a Eee Pc with a Sony box and pay $500 or even more.
Its silly, but than the rich don't mind.
Anyways, if you look at the Sony's recent result curves, its all going downwards.
So maybe Sony should stick to its core product areas rather than wasting money on newer products in areas it can not compete and wasting too much on gimmekery adds.

Arrogant review

Do you guys agree with jimmy that all those who prefer the Asus eee against the Sony are "morons"? Please post your comments and air your side with his arrogant review. If he is so in love with the Sony, its fine! Just don't ridicule others who chooses otherwise!

money to burn

Maybe jimmy has a lot of money to burn but a lot of us have to be practical on how we spend and choose wisely. So is being practical being a moron, really?
