Not too sure about the ones sold commercially but the ones sold in schools are installed with Linux. Boot up time is 20 secs or so. The extra 4 GB SD card comes with a driver to merge together with the hard disk to give 12 GB storage.With the Linux OS, it is generally quite snappy. However, after installing XP home, it becomes slightly sluggish but still bearable for the weight convenience. Boot up time is ard 1 min 30 secs with Antivirus and some other basic software installed.
With win OS, office 2007, antivirus and acronis true image, it takes up ard 4.5 GB storage space. Still have 7.5 Gb left on hard disk. Installation took ard 12 hours.
Got the windows driver from Humyo website but I think Acer put it on their ftp website now. www.liliputing.com...
