$ for $ may be the best value laptop

I am borderline getting this machine. Acer HK has a configuration (Acer 5720G-831G16Mi) with a T8300 and a HD2600 display card with 512MB VRAM. Comes with 1GB RAM but an additional 2GB is thrown in free. At HK$7980 with Vista Premium (About S$1,400) this might possibly be the best value machine on the market right now.Has anyone seen better, even moving into the new China brands and those such as Everex and Hasee? This might be the machine for me, unless someone tells me of a bad experience with Acer.
I got this machine if anyone is interested.

I got it, it does "everything it says on the tin", but somehow I am decidely underwhelmed by it. I think at the moment it is Vista as the extra 2GB is currently awaiting redemption and because of this it takes a fair while to boot up and shut down. The construction doesn't feel like it compares to Dell and the aesthetics fall short of HP. The webcam is so-so and the sound is just OK.
But it cost-wise it is cheap - which is why I got it. I also like the fingerprint scanner, which tested on a sample group of 2 people did not trigger any incorrect access.
$ for $ I still think it is the best value machine, even more so than the eeePC.
