Features
As it was released back in 2004, the QMT 21's feature set is not particularly exciting by today's standard. There's line-in recording, FM radio and voice recording. A bookmarking feature will help language learners to keep tabs on their last listen though the bookmarks are limited to 20 at any time.

Scratch free? Not for long.

Hitting the joystick in different modes will open up the relevant menu, sort of like the contextual right-click function in Windows. It's easily to get used to, but in an age when color screens are de rigueur, it's not worth writing home about.

Auto presetting on the QMT 21 went flawlessly well, capturing all the stations within the local FM spectrum. However, in our test locations, it was marred by constant hisses in most of the stations.

In broken metal bits.

Unlike a lot of flash-based MP3 players we have encountered, the QMT 21's playlist function is not limited to just the one. Multiple playlists can be generated though the player, though with a bland naming convention, such as XT21PL01, users would have to edit the file name from the computer itself for clarity's sake.

As with most flash-based MP3 players, file transfers on the QMT 21 are performed through a drag-and-drop interface. Sound equalizers include a user-defined five-band equalizer as well as five more preset ones.
