CNET Asia Review
Excellent
The good: Brilliant picture quality; high-resolution LCD display; massive storage capacity; slick design. 8.4
out of 10View score
The bad: High-quality plug-ins cost extra; touchscreen not sensitive enough for Web browsing comfortably; expensive.
The bottom line: The Archos 7 portable media player is an impressive performer and, in particular, an absolutely killer device for watching movies on the go. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay extra if you want to use all the features it can offer, which is annoying in a device that's so costly to begin with.

Its an okay product for certain people
Apr 5, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Plays movies well
Cons: Expensive in both $$ and setup time
Opinion:
The first reviewer really panned this product, and with good reason. It is too expensive and it is delivered incomplete. It takes hours to get it set up. You have to purchase at least two plug-ins ($20 each) before you can use it and this is a very painful process. The online store requires you to type in your name and address twice for each purchase. Then you have to enter your credit card number again once for each. The worst part is entering the various codes from the unit and the case. The serial number code in in microscopic lettering that requires a 10X loupe to read. You will probably have to make a trip to the drugstore to get one before you can download the plug-ins. There is an endless list of these kinds of gotchas in the user experience.
HOWEVER, this is also the charm of the device. ... Read more

Pros: nice screen
Cons: see attached list
Opinion:
Expensive...and your not done yet. to get it to do what you want...you need to throw more money at it.
Touch screen is not accurate, even after calibration.
multiple plug in devices costing in the hundreds more.
Email will not work. It crashes. Wi Fi very poor and disconnects when not looking. Widgets won't find what they are supposet to get, Weather, Stocks, and updates.
Won't play MP4 like it says with downloading plugins...witch cost more money and is not possible. The site has never been up.
Almost NO tech support. No refunds and will not take back product.
I would run from this product as fast as you can. Archos Failed on all points with the 7
