The bad: Video output requires a proprietary cable; audio quality has not improved; some older iPod video accessories may not be compatible; users are required to use the latest version of iTunes, which may not work on some older computer systems.
The bottom line: The iPod classic is a refinement of the formula that put the iPod on the map. Few can match its combination of storage capacity, battery life, and advanced user interface.

Jan 31, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Battery life; Highly intuitive controls; Built in games
Cons: Still the same screen; No more video out w/jack; Coverflow has problems.
Opinion:
Ole' reliable.Huge capacity but with still the same size screen it's not the best video player.
Coverflow has problems since it differentiates a song with a guest artist even if its on the same album. Picture will also turn black if you change it, you have to delete the whole album then reload it again if you want a new album art.
You'd think as a 6th iteration, Apple would realize to change the crappy earphones into something better but noooo.
They also took out the ability to stream audio via the jack which again begs the question, why the huge space if it doesn't make sense to add videos (along with its still small screen).
