The bad: No FM auto-scan; no user-defined equalizer; poor battery life.
The bottom line: The EZ Tangent may be an improvement over the shuffle, but it will have to work hard to prove its mettle against other new entrants that have adopted the shuffle form factor.

Practical sleek-looking cool player that is slim & light.
Dec 14, 2006Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: OLED screen, lyrics-displaying, direct USB interface, FM, recordings, slim & light-weight.
Cons: Relatively shorter battery life-span of 8hrs and slightly weaker Bass output.
Opinion:
This is a practical full-feature sleek-looking MP3 player that is both light and slim. It comes with an impressive full-band FM tuner that offers 3 sensitvitiy levels and is able to record voice/FM radio clearly in 7 different frequencies.
The 3-color OLED screen, which glitters in darkness, displays lyrics in many different languages. One could easily learn to sing favorite songs (like a Karaoke machine) or learn a foreign language with the vivid lyrics display.
The sound output is good and clear although the Bass output could be stronger. Battery life of 8 hrs (which I presume is a trade-off for its compact-size) is relatively short but is not a problem for people who use computers often as it charges up to 80% in 2 hrs when connected to the USB port.
The ez-Tangent functions very well as a flash-memory data storage drive with its direct-USB interface (unlike most other models which requires ... Read more
Ok for ppl who don't listen much btw charges
Apr 19, 2006Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: screen, fm and flash drive
Cons: batt life, sound quality, volume
Opinion:
Really sucky battery life, volume is way too low, and cranking it up drains even more batt. Mine has a tendancy to stop playing halfway even when the batt isn't used up... Takes too long to boot up, and switching btw folders is a chore cos it always resets to repeating 1 song mode. Sound quality is not great. I'm mainly irked by the low low 6 hrs or less battery life, but the other functions are passable at most. The radio and screen are nice though... Oh also the ipod shuffle's protective casing will NOT fit this device.
