User Review for Creative Zen X-Fi (8GB)

iPod Users Stay Away

Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Tons of Features
Cons: Difficult to Sync, Prone to Hang, Controls not user-friendly
Opinion:
After my iPod nano died, I was thinking of getting a replacement player. Since Creative offers the feature-packed X Fi at a competitive price, I decided to switch...

Well, there are pros and cons, and I'm not entirely satisfied with my new player. For starters, it is #&*$#?!! difficult to sync what you see on the syncing software interface(Creative Centrale) to the player. My tons of album art got all jumbled up and you can't seem to go back to edit again once you sync on the first try. And oh, it also doesn't support lyrics. Ok, that may seem trivial, nevermind... but DAAEE - failed

Next, if you have got used to the iPod smooth-as-silk controls, you will find the X Fi controls, at best, a hassle. I mean, what's with the nine silly teeny weeny buttons that u gotta use to navigate thru the menu. I got frustrated each and every time I pushed those buttons. DAAAEE - failed.

Ok, I dunno if I got myself a faulty unit, but 20% of the time, when I tried to switch it off, my X Fi will just rolled up its eyes, turned pale white (literally on its screen) and hang up on me. Sheesh...

The only remedy is to reset the whole damn thing and wait for it to "rebuild" itself...

Well, much have been said about X Fi's featured-packed functions, but I'm not gonna to repeat myself here... probably that's the only reason why I'm still holding onto it.
