connecting samsung U3 to mac
Oct 7, 2007 04:37 AM
i recommend U3 mp3 player to my friend. he's using macintosh notebook. unfortunately, he said he cant transfer songs to his U3, despite the mac recognize U3 as a USB device.we use folder copying without the software. we dont like the software included. seems like it cant be installed in mac anyway. copy paste is much more convinient.
So is there any way to transfer songs to U3 with mac? settings, preferences, software update, or other tricks?
thanks for the attention :) looking forward for the answer.

I'm using a MacBook Pro running on Leopard and I happen to have a U3 as well. Same problem. The Mac would recognize the U3 player as a USB drive and charges it, but there's no way to copy over music files onto the drive. According to the specs on the Samsung Web site, the U3 is compatible only with Windows 2000, XP and Vista. So yeah..Samsung MP3 and MAC user

I have found a good solution: XNJB free software,XNJB- created by Richard Low- is a Cocoa graphical user interface for Mac OS X for a wide range of portable MP3 players and others MTP players. It uses libnjb and libmtp for low-level device communication. See the device list to control if your device is supported.
It works with Samsung MP3 models, Creative MP3, etc, but not with iTunes sw. Anyway it's perfect for all Mac users !!!
