The bottom line: The iPhone 3G delivers on its promises by adding critical features and sharper performance. The iTunes Apps Store is pretty amazing, and the 3G support is more than welcome. We still have a few gripes, but the iPhone 3G a big improvement over the original model.
Telstra to bring iPhone 3G to Australia on July 11
According to the media release, data plans "start at A$30 per month with an upfront cost of A$279 for the 8GB model and A$399 for the 16GB model". The 8GB model is free if you sign up for the A$80 monthly plan. Users who subscribe to data plans which are above A$100 per month will get to choose between the 8GB and 16GB model for free. All plans come with a two-year contract and include free Wi-Fi access at Telstra hotspots.

According to Airtel India, the 8GB iPhone 3G is priced at Rs 31,000, while the 16GB version (for both white and black) is priced at Rs 36,000. The handset is also network-locked to Airtel and will work only with an activated Airtel SIM card.
