Phone makers have begun publishing information on the Specific Absorption Rates (SAR) of their handsets.
SAR shows the absorption of energy by the human body in watts per kilogram (W/kg). The upper limit adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Singapore is 2.0 W/kg. The values listed in our chart represents the maximum SAR level with the phone next to the ear.
It's important to note that in publishing this list we are in no way implying that cell-phone use is or isn't harmful to your health. There is currently no conclusive evidence to support a link between phone radiation and cancer. Following several conflicting findings from studies, WHO has called for further mobile phone tests to be conducted.
We have compiled a list of SAR values of the latest phones but do check back regularly for the latest updates. Pick a brand below to go browsing now.
