Volume controls do not work at all.
May 10, 2008Rating: 3 out of 10 (Poor)
Pros: Bluetooth pairing easy with newer LG Chocolate and Verizon.
Cons: Volume too low to warrant usage of this product.
Opinion:
Bad design on volume switches as they do not work, or as this is an out of box ebay purchase, controls too flimsey and broken on delivery.
roadtest - Motorola S9 vs Nokia BH-501
Dec 22, 2007Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: see below
Cons: see below
Opinion:
With more and more bluetooth stereo headsets appearing on the market these days it's getting harder to know which one is the right one. Jabra, Motorola, Sony, Bluetrek, Nokia, i-Tech ... all of them are making stereo headsets for the Asian market at the moment. What follows is a brief comparison of the Motorola Motorokr S9 and the Nokia BH-501; I've been using both of these headsets on a daily basis for the past month or 2.
CONNECTION: When you fist pair up the S9 you can expect it to drop the connection during the first few days of use. The more you use it, however, the better it gets. Not sure why that happens but it does. After a month, the S9 is almost as strong as the Nokia BH-501 in holding on to its connection with the phone, although the BH-501 wins this category.
FUNCTION: The S9 wins ... Read more

Great concept, poor execution
Nov 16, 2007Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: excellent sound, very light and comfortable to wear
Cons: overly sensitive; shuts off at the slightest interference
Opinion:
I'm actually wearing the S9 conected to a Nokia N73-1 as I write these few lines from the local True internet cafe here in downtown Bangkok. I've become quite a bluetooth fan over the past few months. After I discovered that bluetooth was not caused by licking blue loli-pops all day, I can't seem to leave the house without hanging one around my neck or plugged into me ear . I now own 3 bluetooth toys, a Sonor H300, a Motorola HT820 and the new S9 which I bought last week. I think this allows me to write a fair and objective comparison.
Let's begin with the negative aspect - there's really only one but it's a potential deal breaker. The S9 is too sensitive to radio interference - from a variety of sources - includinmg but not limited to other mobile phones, radios of all kinds, even commercial freezers at the local convenience ... Pros: Good battery life time
Cons: Price
Opinion:
Since Motorola is offering at least twenty Music Phones, and the range of prices goes between a hundred and five hundred dollars, I believe this headphones should be included in the original packaging, FOR FREE
